  Pattern Special

Make your own Bea's Garden quilt using needle-turned or fused technique. This is a perfect project for the novice quilter! This quilt started as a Christmas gift-exchange gift for a dear friend named Bea in Cathy’s friendship group, and then later was turned into a pattern. Now every time Cathy picks a name for the Christmas exchange, the recipient feels slighted if their quilt isn’t turned into a pattern!

- This pattern is on sale now for $8.00, buy it online!

Teaching & Schedule Updates

In April, Cathy will be heading to Cape Code to lecture and do workshops for the Bayberry Quilters of Cape Cod . This will be an extra-special teaching trip, because Cathy is bringing her daughter and granddaughter along. When the classes are over, they are going to explore Massachusetts and take some time to visit Cathy’s sister-in-law Lucia.

Then in May, Cathy Van Bruggen Designs will have a booth at the Spring Quilt Market in Salt Lake, Utah. Please stop by the booth if you’re going to be there! Cathy is going to be debuting several new patterns. Cathy Van Bruggen Designs will also have a quilt displayed in the Hoffman booth, using 100%Hoffman fabrics.

Meet Copper Doggie

Like Posie, Copper was a rescue pet. We got him when he was about one year of age. He’s almost nine now, and is one of the sweetest pets you’ll have met. When any of the other pets are being chastised for bad behavior, Copper will always be right there, adding his own bark of displeasure. Copper loves for go for short trips in the car, and is always sad when Cathy goes off to teach and he has to stay home!

In the photo, Copper is in the family boat on Lake Perris, laying next to his life preserver and wearing his favorite sun hat.

Copper is currently trying to convince Grandma to create a pattern just for him, but in the meantime he’ll be happy just taking her cookies.
